First distillery since 1909 coming to downtown Roanoke

Roanoke Valley News

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Three brothers are working to launch the City of Roanoke’s first distillery since 1909.

The brothers — Brian, Andy, and Tim Brady — have founded Brady’s Distillery.

The Bradys are Roanoke natives, established business owners, and entrepreneurs. The brothers plan to craft a line of curated spirits including blended bourbons, whiskeys, rum, gin, vodkas, and brandy.

“The idea for a distillery came to us roughly 10 years ago while visiting a distillery in VA. We were completely enamored by the craft. We had all been beer brewers for years, but this was a whole new level. From learning the simple but complicated science behind operating the still, to creating recipes and bringing personality to each offering, it’s all been so exciting and rewarding.  We’re excited to share the fruit of our labor.”

Their production facility is located just off Orange Avenue, coincidentally just a street over from the last distillery to produce in the City of Roanoke more than a century ago.

The team will announce the location of their tasting room in the future.
