LEXINGTON, Va. (WFXR) — Mother’s Day is just around the corner, so if you haven’t decided what to get the mom in your life, you’re in luck because WFXR News has a very sweet treat in mind!

WFXR News’ Hazelmarie Anderson visited Cocoa Mill Chocolates in downtown Lexington, where she helped make chocolate-covered strawberries, heart-shaped boxes of chocolate, and chocolate nonpareils.

Here are some fun facts for chocolate lovers:

  • It takes about 400 cocoa beans to make one pound of chocolate.
  • Milk chocolate bars have a higher caffeine content than a shot of espresso.

Cocoa Mills Chocolates is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday at 123 West Nelson Street in Lexington. You can also check out the chocolatier’s special Mother’s Day products on their website.

If you’re still at a loss for what to give the important mothers in your life, the National Retail Federation says the top three gifts include flowers, greeting cards and special outings. Some other gift ideas include subscriptions to streaming services, meal service kids, or experience gift cards.
