ROCKY MOUNT, Va. (WFXR) – Federal prosecutors have an arrest warrant out for a former Rocky Mount police officer.

Thomas Robertson faces charges in connection with the riot at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6.

Court documents indicate that Robertson violated the terms of his pre-trial release.

The motion states that law enforcement searched Robertson’s home on Tuesday, June 29 and found a loaded M-4 rifle and a partially-assembled pipe bomb. It also says that Robertson had purchased an arsenal of 34 firearms online.

Prosecutors have said that Robertson posed a danger to the community and should be held in custody pending his trial.

The motion also adds that possessing firearms is in violation of his release.

It is currently unknown whether the judge ordered Robertson’s arrest or if he is in custody.
