ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Elevation Roanoke is throwing a Sunday block party so community members can celebrate the success of the church’s LOVE Week.

Elevation Roanoke representatives the celebration will take place on Sunday, Aug. 14 following the 9:30 a.m. worship service at the Berglund Center.

“We love our community, and we know that God is doing BIG things in our city. We want to invite folks to visit us for the worship experience at 9:30 a.m. and then stay for food, family, fun, and baptisms!” said Roanoke Worship Experience Pastor Chelsea Reynolds.

Elevation Roanoke says it accomplished the following during LOVE Week 2022:

  • Over one million meals were packaged
  • 1,796 events were held in 177 cities
  • 28,100 snacks were distributed
  • Volunteers served over 55,000 hours
  • Over $2 million was given to partners
  • 48,920 hygiene kits were donated
  • 28,900 backpacks were filled

According to event organizers, free lunch will be given to everyone in attendance while supplies last, as well as free children’s activities and visits from community helpers.
