CALLAWAY, Va. (WFXR) — A driver was hospitalized after first responders from Callaway and Roanoke County were called out to the scene of an overturned tractor-trailer on Wednesday.

The Callaway Volunteer Fire Department says crews were dispatched to report of a tractor trailer crash near Callaway Road and Adney Gap Road on Wednesday, Sept. 15. When units arrived at the scene, they ended up finding the crash on Adney Gap Road.

According to the department, the tractor-trailer — “possibly unfamiliar with the road conditions on Adney Gap Road” — tried to cross and ended up overturning in a sharp curve.

Callaway fire officials say the driver was brought to a nearby hospital by the Roanoke County Fire and Rescue Department. There is no word on the extent of the driver’s injuries at this time.
