ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — On Tuesday morning, Dr Pepper Park and its new artistic partner, Blue Eagle Credit Union, held a news conference about their goal to give the downtown Roanoke venue a new look this summer.

The briefing took place at Dr Pepper Park at the Bridges at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 26, during which time the partners unveiled this new project to merge art and music for a more fun guest experience.

Organizers say the art pieces from local artists will all be made from recycled or repurposed material.

According to the president of Dr Pepper Park, Waynette Anderson, it’s a way to combine the culture of the Star City with something everyone loves.

“It’s going to really shine a very bright light on the arts community and our artists and all of the talent that we have here in the Roanoke Valley,” said Anderson.

In addition, Anderson says the venue will upgrade its skybox.
