FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Franklin County motorists may run into delays during their Wednesday morning commute because of a tractor-trailer crash along U.S. Route 220 South.

According to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), the southbound right lane and right shoulder are closed on U.S. Route 220 near Wirtz Road/Route 697.

While VDOT has yet to provide an estimate of the backups from this crash, the 511 online traffic map shows significantly slowed traffic in both directions of U.S. Route 220 in the area of the crash.
