UPDATE: Three residents displaced after Saturday morning fire in Garden City

UPDATE 11:00 p.m.: Roanoke Fire-EMS continues to investigate a fire on Garden City Blvd. SE Saturday morning.

The latest update is that two dogs inside of the structure did not survive the fire. One dog was rescued by the owners of the house.

UPDATE 9:20 p.m.: Roanoke Fire-EMS crews are still investigating the cause of a Saturday morning fire in Garden City.

The initial call came in around 7:48 a.m. to the 3500 block of Garden City Blvd. SE for a residential structure fire.

When crews arrived, they found smoke and flames showing from the structure

No injuries have been reported, but three residents have been displaced.


ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – Early Saturday morning, Roanoke Fire-EMS responded to a house fire in the Garden City section of southeast Roanoke.

Crews are still on-scene of the fire, located in the 3500 block of Garden City Boulevard SE. The road is blocked in all directions, so drivers will want to avoid this area.

Roanoke Fire-EMS crews say that additional information will be released soon.
