UPDATE 3:30 p.m.: Covington Public Works crews have restored water service to customers previously out in the Edgemont section of the city.

Outages remain in place in Roanoke as crews continue preparing three separate water mains that broke earlier today.

UPDATE 1:20 p.m.: WFXR News has learned that Public Works crews in Covington are working to restore water service to the Edgemont section of the city.

Several streets are being affected by having no water service including:

  • West Park Street
  • West Edgemont Drive
  • South Lewis Avenue
  • South Mumford Avenue
  • South Church Avenue
  • South Grass Avenue

These streets will be without water until further notice as crews repair a water leak. Some nearby streets not listed above may also be affected by the outage.

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – Crews with the Western Virginia Water Authority are working to repair three separate water main breaks in the Roanoke area.

Sarah Baumgardner with the Western Virginia Water Authority tells WFXR News that crews are actively working in the following locations:

  • 1100 block of Liberty Road NE
  • 7000 block of Estes Street
  • 200 block of Wentworth Avenue NE

Residents in these areas may have no water or very low water pressure.

Baumgardner says it may take six to eight hours to fully repair each line.
