UPDATE 8:35 a.m.: Roanoke Fire-EMS says crews have cleared the scene of Thursday morning’s multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of Orange Avenue, Burrell Street, and Gainsboro Road in northwest Roanoke.

According to the department, crews removed one person from a vehicle and brought them to the hospital. There is no word on the extent of that person’s injuries.

Officials have not reported how many other people or vehicles were involved in the crash, but the Roanoke Police Department is investigating the incident.



ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Motorists may run into some delays Thursday morning because first responders are currently at the scene of a multi-vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer in northwest Roanoke.

Roanoke Fire-EMS units are currently at the intersection of Orange Avenue, Burrell Street, and Gainsboro Road.

Drivers are asked to seek alternate routes and avoid the area due to road closures.

At least two cars appear to be badly damaged at the scene of the crash, but there is no word on the extent of the damage to the tractor-trailer or whether anyone was hurt.
