Crews investigate cause of basement fire in NW Roanoke

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Roanoke Fire-EMS are on the scene of a basement fire in the 3900 block of Grandview Avenue NW that left two people displaced.

Crews were dispatched to the scene at 5:13 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 20. When units arrived, they found heavy smoke coming from inside the residence.

Roanoke Fire-EMS say the fire was located in the basement of the residence.

The fire has been marked as under control.

Two people have been displaced as a result of the fire.

No injuries have been reported, though, the investigation into the cause of the fire has begun.
