UPDATE 7:01 a.m.: Firefighters are currently putting out some leftover hot spots following a blaze that broke out at a house in Franklin County early Friday morning.

Fire officials tell WFXR News that the fire was brought under control in the 300 block of Beechdale Road by 5 a.m. on Friday, June 24, with no reports of injuries.

While the cause of the fire is still under investigation, the Franklin County Fire Marshall says the house sustained “extensive damage.”



FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — First responders have spent their Friday morning battling a blaze at a home just outside of Rocky Mount.

WFXR News has a crew on the scene of the house fire in the 300 block of Beechdale Road, which was called in shortly before 3:15 a.m. on Friday, June 24.

Fire officials tell WFXR News that there are no reports of injuries and everyone made it out of the apartment.

Members of the Burnt Chimney Volunteer Fire Department, the Rocky Mount Fire Department, the Glade Hill Volunteer Fire Department, the Boones Mill Volunteer Fire Department, and Franklin County Public Safety are currently at the scene.

There is no word on the cause of the fire, but the Franklin County Fire Marshall arrived on the scene a short time ago.
