Confederate statue to remain in place in Franklin County

Roanoke Valley News

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – The Board of Supervisors in Franklin County has voted unanimously to leave the Confederate statue in place in front of the Courthouse.

Earlier this month, residents voted against a referendum asking if the statue should be moved to a new location where 70-percent of voters said they wanted to keep the statue where it was.

This resulted in this week’s vote by the Board of Supervisors.
