SALEM, Va. (WFXR) — This weekend is the perfect opportunity for fans of vintage television to get together with some of their favorite stars in Salem!
The “Happy Trails Virginia Style Media and Nostalgia Convention” starts Friday, May 20 and runs through Sunday, May 22.
Celebrities like Kathy Garver from “Family Affair,” Darby Hinton from “Daniel Boone,” Rebecca Holden from “Knight Rider,” and several others will be meeting with fans.
Nancy Stafford co-starred with Andy Griffith for six seasons on “Matlock.” She says that fans approach her all the time to say they still appreciate the old family shows.

“We yearn for a time that is simpler, a time where we are not being barraged with things that are pushing the envelope too much culturally or socially. You can watch it with your family,” said Stafford.
In addition to the meet and greets, Stafford and other entertainers will hold panels for people who want to become actors. Stafford’s panel will discuss how to prepare for successful auditions.
The Happy Trails Virginia Style will be held at the CommUNITY Church at 1923 East Main Street in Salem.
Proceeds for the event will go to cancer research through the John Wayne Cancer Foundation.
