ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — On the heels of Carilion’s announcement last week regarding loosened visitation guidelines for most of its hospitals, Carilion Rockbridge Community Hospital has announced it is switching to the YELLOW LEVEL of restricted visitation.
This change officially begins on Tuesday, March 9 at 9 a.m.
“We continue to monitor community spread, and it’s been encouraging to see decreasing trends in the greater Lexington area. Visitation guidelines are being slightly loosened, however, we must all remain vigilant against COVID-19, and I ask the community to keep doing its part to slow the spread.”Greg Madsen, Vice President and Hospital Administrator for Carilion Rockbridge Community Hospital
The visitation level at the hospital is assessed weekly based on the level of COVID-19 spread in the immediate community surrounding each hospital.
Generally, when the alert is in the red level, visitors are not allowed with few exceptions.
At the yellow level, visitation is still restricted. However, there are a few more exceptions to the rule which includes one visitor for inpatients age 18 and older per day. Pediatric inpatients were already allowed two visitors, which remains the same for the yellow level.
