UPDATE: Nobody injured after Botetourt County first responders fight fire in Troutville

UPDATE 1:40 p.m.: The Botetourt County Department of Fire and EMS released additional information about Wednesday’s morning fire at the Dodge’s Store along Lee Highway in Troutville.

The department says units arrived at the scene and found smoke outside the building, as well as filling spaces inside the business.

After crews thoroughly searched the area, they determined the source of the fire was a malfunctioning rooftop HVAC unit, according to fire officials. First responders then worked to isolate the affected equipment and ventilate the building.

There are no reports of injuries among occupants or firefighters following this incident.

BOTETOURT COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Botetourt County motorists may need to use an alternate route Wednesday morning because crews are currently battling a blaze in Troutville.

According to the Botetourt County Department of Fire and EMS, there is a working fire at Dodge’s Store along Lee Highway.

Drivers are asked to avoid this part of Troutville, if possible.
