ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – Police say they made an arrest in connection with the shooting that took place early Saturday morning in northwest Roanoke.
According to the Roanoke Police Department, officers were called to a disturbance around 15tgh Street and Loudoun Avenue NW at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30.
When police arrived on the scene, they found a man with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound outside a residence. He was then brought to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
The department says the initial investigation indicated the shooting took place in the 1400 block of Loudoun Avenue NW. Authorities believe the shooter and the victim were arguing before it escalated into a shooting.
On Monday, Nov. 1, police announced that 38-year-old Tahir B. Dixon of Roanoke, was arrested and charged with malicious wounding in connection with Saturday morning’s shooting.
According to the department, Dixon and the victim knew each other.
Additional details are limited, but the investigation is reportedly ongoing.
