‘A big little goofball’: Life-saving dog up for adoption at Angels of Assisi

Roanoke Valley News

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Angels of Assisi says a very special pooch is up for adoption after she came to the rescue of another dog in desperate need of a blood donation.

According to the animal shelter, Maggie was given plenty of snacks, scratches, and hugs for her heroism after the blood transfusion last week.

The dog Maggie donated blood to is reportedly still undergoing treatment.

While she can now add “lifesaver” to her list of tricks, Maggie is now in need of help to find a new home.

“So Maggie is up for adoption,” said Dayna Reynolds, director of communications for Angels of Assisi. “She loves every person she meets. She doesn’t go great with other dogs, so she would do best in an only pet home, but she is so sweet, she walks amazingly on a leash, and she’s just a big little goofball!”
