ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Saturday was a highly-anticipated day for many small business owners as parts of downtown Roanoke experienced the hustle and bustle of ‘Small Business Saturday.’
For Rhyan Hartman of RmBakes, Saturday, Nov. 27 was especially exciting.
The 18-year-old decided to make her vision of healthy desserts come alive just this past spring. Hartman bakes her own delicious vegan desserts and sells them in Roanoke. She is thankful for the support Small Business Saturday brings.
“It means everything. I haven’t been doing this for very long. To know that people support me and like what I do, it makes me want to keep moving forward and doing this,” said Hartman.
Hartman is happy to share her passion for healthy dessert alternatives in Roanoke. When she decided to switch to a vegan diet, she still wanted to be able to eat desserts and enjoy them.
“When I went vegan, I wanted to make sure I could still have all my favorite foods,” said Hartman.
Hartman plans to open up her own shop one day.
“I put a lot of love into what I do, and you’ll never find anything that tastes better anywhere else,” said Hartman.
WFXR News’ D’Mon Reynolds had the chance to try a vegan biscoff cookie and says she may be right.
