The sport of curling is making its way to the Roanoke Valley.
WFXR first brought you this story in February when local curling fanatic Emily Morris told her plan to start up the area’s first curling club.
That club made its debut at the Berglund Center Saturday. Morris and other members got locals onto the ice to learn how to play the sport at two classroom clinics.
Morris hopes to get ice time again soon so they can hold another similar event.
“We want to start a beginner’s league in the fall, so this is sort of an introductory,” she said. “It teaches someone who’s never curled before the basics.”
