Roanoke Police respond to shooting on Murray Ave. in Roanoke, one injured

Roanoke Police are investigating a shooting on the 600 block of Murray Avenue after a man was shot early Monday morning. 

Police said the victim was shot in the upper neck and was transported to the hospital. 

Officials said the suspect is expected to be okay. 

Officials said they were dispatched to the scene at around 6:30 a.m.  

According to police, the shooter is not yet in custody. 

The victim said he did not know the suspect and does believe that this could be domestic related.

Roanoke Police do not believe there is any danger to the community associated with this incident.
