Roanoke Fire-EMS responds to multiple water rescues Thursday night

UPDATE: Roanoke Fire-EMS said two vehicles and five occupants were assisted by the Swift Water Team Thursday night amid flooding around the city.

Many more cars were stranded in the flood waters.

No injuries were reported.


ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Roanoke Fire-EMS posted on social media Thursday night that units responded to multiple water rescues within the city.

The department is urging people to stay home.

The National Weather Service issued a flood advisory in the City of Roanoke at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 19.
