Roanoke County fire stations ‘light the night’ in honor of fallen firefighters

Local News

ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — You may have seen some Roanoke County fire stations light up red on Sunday night, but that’s how the Roanoke County Fire and Rescue Department is honoring fallen firefighters.

According to Roanoke County fire officials, the stations are shining red lights as part of the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation’s “Light the Night” campaign.

The department says the stations will be illuminated in red through Sunday, Oct. 4, in order to remind the families of those fallen firefighters they are not forgotten.
