Resident unharmed after Roanoke County house fire

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Roanoke County Fire and Rescue responded to a residential fire Sunday a little before 5:30 p.m. The home is located at 4500 Brookridge Rd. in the Mount Pleasant area.

First responders found heavy smoke and flames coming from the back of a single-wide mobile home and put the fire out in less than 20 minutes.

The escaped the home unharmed. The American Red Cross will assist the occupant who is displaced.

The Roanoke County Fire Marshal’s Office says the fire was accidental. There was significant damage to the mobile home, estimated at around $5,000.
