Report: Home listings drop 25% year-over-year in Virginia

Local News

(WFXR) — A new report from Virginia REALTORS shows the number of homes on the market in the Commonwealth continues to drop.

While a rise in COVID-19 cases — especially of the omicron variant — and the potential for interest rate hikes have the potential to impact the market, Virginia REALTORS says it expects strong housing demand to continue through the first part of 2022.

Dr. Lisa Sturtevant, chief economist for Virginia REALTORS, joined WFXR News’ Amanda Kenney to discuss the outlook for this year’s housing market.
