SMITH MOUNTAIN LAKE, Va. (WFXR) — Whether you’re a Smith Mountain Lake local or just visiting for Memorial Day weekend, there are two churches that are offering services you can attend by water.
At 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 30 — weather permitting — Palestine Baptist Church will hold a service at Smith Mountain Lake State Park at the outdoor campfire amphitheater beside the campsites, according to the SML Regional Chamber of Commerce.
If you’re coming by land, parking will covered if you tell the attendant you’re there for the outdoor service.
You can also attend Boat Church at 9:15 a.m. on Sunday, which is located at Arrowhead Campground located at 5625 Smith Mountain Lake Road in Penhook. If you’re coming by boat, the service is located three quarters of a mile south/southeast of B-4 on the Blackwater.
