Prescribed burn could bring smoke into parts of Route 220 corridor in Botetourt County

CRAIG COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – A prescribed burn has begun in a section of the Alleghany Highlands.

According to the Botetourt County Sheriff’s Office, the burn is taking place between Oriskany in Alleghany County and New Castle in Craig County.

The WFXR Pinpoint Weather’s Futurecast smoke indicates that smoke from this fire could become visible in parts of the Route 220 corridor, near Fincastle.
