UPDATE 6:30 p.m.: Appalachian Power crews have reported that the significant power outage affecting over 1,000 customers around Wyndhurst has been restored.
A few minor outages remain, but generally, there are under 50 customers still without power and are sporadically spaced around the Lynchburg area and, for the most part, according to Appalachian Power, will be restored in the coming hours.
LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) – Nearly 24 hours after a severe thunderstorm moved through parts of the Lynchburg area, there are still several customers without power.
According to Appalachian Power, as of 4:15 p.m., over 1,000 customers around Wyndhurst are still without power.
Appalachian Power crews estimate power to be restored in this area by 10 p.m. Tuesday night.
