A car ended up in an embankment along Franklin Turnpike in Pittsylvania County Thursday evening. Crews are working to free a man who is trapped inside.
The accident occurred in the 10000 block of Franklin Turnpike.
Police say the man was talking to them while they tried to get him out of the car.
A helicopter was called before Virginia State Police arrived on scene.
Both north and south lanes are closed.
