UPDATE 12:45 p.m.: Police offered more details about the Thursday night shooting in northwest Roanoke that sent one seriously injured man to the hospital.
The Roanoke Police Department says officers responded to calls about a person who had been shot in the area of Kellogg Avenue and Rockland Avenue NW at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 24.
Police say they found a man with what appeared to be a serious gunshot wound outside a home in the 900 block of Rockland Avenue NW. First responders reportedly brought that man to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
According to the department, officers determined the shooting took place in the 800 block of Hunt Avenue NW, where they also discovered property damage and other evidence indicative of a shooting.
No arrests have been made at this time in connection with this ongoing investigation, according to the department.

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Police are investigating after a person was hospitalized following a late night shooting in Roanoke Thursday.
According to a sergeant with the Roanoke Police Department, officers responded to the 800 block of Hunt Avenue at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 24, and found one person who had been shot.
The sergeant says the victim was brought to the hospital, but there is no word on the victim’s condition at this time. Police say a car was also damaged in the shooting.
As of 5:15 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 25, police have not made any arrests in connection with the shooting.
