Police investigating robbery at Montvale market, suspect at large

UPDATE: Bedford County Sheriff’s Office are searching for two suspects involved in a robbery on Road Side Market in Montvale Monday night.

Police say they were called around 9:16 p.m. 

The caller said two white men with masks covering their faces entered the store and took cash and cigarettes.

The first suspect was wearing a red long sleeve shirt, black jeans and red shoes. The second suspect was wearing a long sleeve tie dyed shirt, black jeans and was carrying a shotgun. Both suspects were wearing baseball caps.

Investigators believe the suspects may have left the store in a dark colored Jeep Liberty or Patriot going in an unknown direction.

Anyone with information on this crime is asked to the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office.


ORIGINAL: Deputies in Bedford are looking for the suspect involved in a robbery Monday night.

According to the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office, a suspect robbed the Roadside Market on Lynchburg Salem Turnpike in the Montvale area around 9 p.m. Monday.

An investigation is underway.

Authorities have not released a description of the subject.
