UPDATE 1:55 p.m.: Roanoke Police Department announced Wednesday officers found a man and an adolescent male — both injured — while investigating Tuesday night’s incident.

According to the department, police were dispatched to the 1200 block of Hanover Avenue NW for reports of a person with a gunshot wound around 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21.

Officers arrived on the scene and found a man and a juvenile male in the roadway, both of whom sustained what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries. Police say Roanoke Fire-EMS transported the juvenile to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, but the man refused treatment for his injuries.

The department says it has limited details about what led up to the incident due to a lack of cooperation by the victims. The investigation is still ongoing, but police say preliminary information shows the incident may have been accidental.
