LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — It’s been four months since 6-year-old Kingston Campbell was shot and killed in his home, while playing video games, in Lynchburg, and his family still wants answers.

The tragic incident took place on Floyd Street on May 1, 2023. As the investigation continued, the Lynchburg Police released surveillance video showing multiple people standing outside Kingston’s home before the shooting occurred.

However, many questions remain unanswered.

Lynchburg Police said they are still actively investigating the shooting, and have been working around the clock to solve this crime, but they need the community’s help.

“We are confident that there is somebody out there that knows exactly what happened. We just need to sit down with them and talk to them about it, so we can bring this to a close,” said Captain Josh Campbell. “Any loss of life is certainly tragic. But we are talking about a 6-year-old child here who is very innocent, sitting in his room.”

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Lynchburg Crime Stoppers at 888-798-5900.
