The Vinton Police Department has arrested and charged a 31-year-old who they believe stole from a Vinton antique shop.
According to police, Matthew David Morris of Roanoke was arrested on Wednesday, January 2 and has been charged with burglary, grand larceny, and three counts of obtaining money by false pretense.
On December 15, police were called to Cornerstone Antiques on the 100 block of West Lee Avenue in the Town of Vinton for a burglary call.
They found someone had broken into the business after it had closed and stolen the following: cash, jewelry, and sterling silver valued at around $3,000.00.
Morris is being held on a $1,500 bond at the Roanoke County – Salem Jail.
