Air quality issues will remain a problem for the next several days due to wildfires burning in the region. The smoke is dispersing over a large area. An Air Quality Alert was issued on Thursday and another may be issued for Friday.

Rain is much needed across the region and there is a chance for some mainly light showers to impact the region on Friday and Saturday as a cold front moves in.

Any rain from this storm system is expected to be light, with heavier amounts remaining in West Virginia.

Another cold front will move in on Tuesday and Wednesday. This front is expected to pick up moisture from the Gulf of Mexico which could bring beneficial rain to the region.

For Friday, temperatures will be slightly cooler due to increased cloud cover and the potential for showers. Cooler air moves in starting Sunday with a little more cold air coming in for the middle of next week.
