ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – Temperatures will drop for the next several days as a cold front moves through the region.

For Tuesday, high temperatures will occur early in the day with temperatures slowly dropping off into the afternoon and evening.

A Freeze Watch is in effect Tuesday night as many areas are expected to go below freezing, bringing the growing season to an end.

As the cold front moves through, light rain is expected. Not all areas will receive rain but for those that do, it will generally be less than 0.25″.

Winds are also expected to pick up behind the front, especially on Wednesday. The wind will make it feel much colder than it actually is.

Late week into the weekend, temperatures are expected to moderate. The next chance for rain will arrive on Sunday.
