CARROLL COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) –The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office arrested two people for possession of meth after a traffic stop on Sunday, March 8, around 6 p.m.
According to Chief Investigator Charles Edwards, during a traffic stop on the 700 block of Epworth Road for a busted windshield and a loud exhaust, a deputy discovered over 20 ounces of meth inside a compartment in the suspects’ vehicle.
In addition to the drugs, the deputy found packaging material commonly tied to drug distribution and over $8,000 in cash in the vehicle, the investigator said.
Barry Gray Oakley, 56, of Mount Airy, North Carolina, and Kimberly Marie Allen, 38, of Mount Airy, North Carolina, were each charged with possession with intent to distribute more than ten grams of meth.
Oakley is held at the New River Valley Regional Jail without bond due to pending charges in Grayson County, Edwards said.
