According to Appalachian Power’s outage map, more than 800 customers remain without power across parts of Virginia and southeastern West Virginia late Thursday night.

UPDATE 6:36 p.m.: The number of Appalachian Power customers impacted by outages has fallen over the past few hours to a little more than 3,000 customers still without power across parts of Virginia and southeastern West Virginia.

UPDATE 12:56 p.m.: The number of Appalachian Power customers impacted by outages has spiked over the past few hours, growing from just over 2,000 to more than 5,200 as severe weather rolls through southwest and central Virginia.
According to Appalachian Power, at least 5,269 customers are without power as of 12:43 p.m. on Thursday due to outages in the following localities:
- Roanoke County: 1,230 customers due to 11 outage cases
- Campbell County: 895 customers due to seven outage cases
- Carroll County: 809 customers due to 27 outage cases
- Floyd County: 733 customers due to 20 outage cases
- Nelson County: 433 customers cue to four outage cases
- Amherst County: 424 customers due to six outage cases
- Galax: 171 customers due to five outage cases
- Montgomery County: 160 customers due to 12 outage cases
- Bedford County: 102 customers due to three outage cases
- Roanoke City: 93 customers due to five outage cases
- Pulaski County: 87 customers due to six outage cases
- Grayson County: 54 customers due to seven outage cases
- Franklin County: 42 customers due to three outage cases
- Wythe County: 12 customers due to two outage cases
- Henry County: Eight customers due to two outage cases
- Lynchburg: Six customers due to two outage cases
- Giles County: Five customers due to three outage cases
- Patrick County: Five customers due to three outage cases
- Botetourt County: Less than five customers due to one outage case

(WFXR) — More than 2,000 Appalachian Power customers in the Roanoke Valley and New River Valley are impacted by outages Thursday morning as heavy rainfall and gusty winds are reported throughout the region.
According to Appalachian Power, at least 2,043 customers are without power as of 8:29 a.m. on Thursday, March 31 due to outages in the following localities:
- Carroll County: 627 customers due to 21 outage cases
- Floyd County: 585 customers due to nine outage cases
- Montgomery County: 208 customers due to eight outage cases
- Grayson County: 181 customers due to nine outage cases
- Roanoke County: 156 customers due to three outage cases
- Galax: 155 customers due to four outage cases
- Giles County: 96 customers due to one outage case
- Roanoke City: 21 customers due to three outage cases
- Pulaski County: 14 customers due to two outage cases
