One pet dies, two residents displaced after house fire in Roanoke Sunday afternoon

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Two Roanoke residents lost more than just their home after a house fire broke out Sunday afternoon.

Roanoke Fire-EMS announced on Sunday, March 1 that first responders were dispatched to a fire in the 2500 block of Beverly Boulevard SW at 12:57 p.m. The first units on the scene reportedly found smoke coming from a residential structure.

Authorities say that all residents escaped the house safely, but there was a pet in the house that passed away in the fire.

Fire officials are investigating the cause of the fire that left reportedly left two residents and another pet displaced.
