UPDATE 12/29/18 2:56PM – Captain Stephen Keatts of the Roanoke Police Department tells WFXR News that the shooter is a juvenile, so no name or mugshot will be released to the media at this time.
He says that the 19-year-old victim was taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, and is recovering from injuries that are not life-threatening.
Keatts confirms that the shooting took place in the parking lot of the Valley View Walmart, resulting from a verbal dispute between the shooter and victim.

A man is injured following a shooting in the 4800 block of Valley View Boulevard NW.
Police responded to the scene after 6:30 P.M. for reports of a shooting.
The victim was transported to Carilion hospital, the extend of his injuries are unknown.
A subject has not been identified.
