North Cross students jump rope for the heart

Local News

Kids are jumping to the beat for a good cause.

Today was the jump for your heart at North Cross School.

1st through 4th grades raised money for the American Heart Association.

They took turns jump roping for an hour to the music.

Teachers say it’s a great way not only to get the kids to exercise but also learn about heart health.

“We do it to raise awareness for being healthy and living a healthy lifestyle, obviously keeping heart healthy choices,” said Mary Semler, Chairman of the P.E. Department.

The school raised more than 10 thousand dollars which was significantly more than their goal last year.
