BOTETOURT COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Repairs to the bridge over Craig Creek in Salem will begin in January, leading to nightly bridge closures.

Starting on Jan. 5 from Sunday through Thursday night, 8 p.m. – 6 am. the bridge located on Route 685, also known as Ball Park Road, will be closed, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).

Emergency vehicles and pedestrians will still have access to the bridge during closures.

Throughout the repair, which is expected to last until mid-March of 2020, motorists will find some delays during the day as equipment and materials are moved onto the bridge, said VDOT.

Motorists will find message boards in the surrounding area to alert drivers of the closures.
