GILES COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — The case against Nancy Fridley — the woman arrested for abduction and child endangerment — will now go before the Giles County grand jury, according to the county’s Commonwealth’s Attorney.

Fridley faces a count of abduction and a count of child abuse and neglect. She is accused of taking two-year-old Noah Trout from Riverview Baptist Church in Ripplemead shortly before noon on May 2.

Then, on May 3, the Giles County Sheriff’s Office found Trout at Fridley’s home in Clifton Forge. Deputies arrested Fridley and her boyfriend, Bobby Lee Taylor.

Prosecutors say the neglect charge stems from Fridley taking the boy with no regard to any conditions he may have that needed special care.

The Giles County Grand Jury will take up the case on Jan. 11, 2022.
