WYTHE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Wytheville Community College (WCC) is offering several tuition options for students enrolling in their college.

As of July 1, WCC is offering free tuition to qualified individuals, in four different in-demand areas of study. It is part of the Governor’s “Get Skilled, Get a Job, and Get Ahead” initiative. This scholarship is available for students who enroll in the Healthcare, Information Technology, Manufacturing, and Skilled Trades and Public Safety programs. You can see the full list of qualifications and programs here.

WCC is also offering a tuition option for those who lost their job due to COVID-19. The Re-Employing Virginians (REV) program offers free tuition and fees. Requirements for the REV program can be found here.

Another option available is the Wythe-Bland Foundation. This program offers tuition and fees coverage for recent high school graduates in Wythe and Bland counties. One major requirement to be considered for financial aid includes being a resident of Wythe or Bland county for at least two years prior to high school graduation. For the full list of requirements check out the Wythe-Bland Foundation Scholarship.

Recent high school students in Galax City, Carroll, and Grayson counties can apply for a free tuition scholarship from the Twin County Community Foundation. Students thinking of applying for this scholarship must have lived in Galax City, Carroll County, or Grayson County for at least two years prior to graduation. They must also have graduated with a least a “B” average. More information on the scholarship program can be found on the Twin County Community Foundation Community College Tuition Assistance Program website.

If you are interested in attending WCC, there are several campus locations; Wytheville campus, Crossroads Institute in Galax, and the Henderson (formerly Summit Center). Student services are available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and advisors are also available after-hours by appointment.
