VSP: Motorcyclist dies at hospital after motorcycle crash in Carroll County Sunday

Virginia State Police say alcohol is believed to be a factor in the motorcycle crash following a police pursuit on New Year's Day.

CARROLL COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Virginia State Police are investigating after a motorcyclist died at the hospital following a Sunday afternoon crash in Carroll County.

According to police, the motorcycle crash occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 23 along Route 52, approximately two miles south of the Blue Ridge Parkway.   

Officials say the operator of the motorcycle was flown to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, where the motorcyclist died the next morning.

The investigation into this fatal crash is reportedly ongoing.
