WYTHE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – Virginia State Police (VSP) says a man has been arrested and a search is continuing for others involved in an attempted burglary at an ATV dealership in Wytheville.

VSP says a deputy with the Wythe County Sheriff’s Office found several individuals attempting to break into an ATV dealership on Chapman Road in Wytheville around 2:20 a.m. Saturday morning.

The deputy says everyone involved ran away which is when VSP was requested to help with searching for those responsible.

During the search, State Police found Christopher A. Thomas, 35, who has been charged with conspiracy to commit grand larceny, conspiracy to enter a structure to commit a burglary, possession of burglary tools and trespassing on railroad property.

He is being held at the New River Valley Regional Jail without bond.

VSP is also searching for information about a 2016 Hyundai sedan with Pennsylvania tags: LSG 0399 which may also be involved in the attempted burglary.

Authorities say they are also continuing to investigate another burglary earlier this year at the same dealership. They say that incident took place on Aug. 28. During that incident, several motorcycles were reportedly stolen by a small group of individuals.

If you have any information about this incident, you are asked to contact VSP at 276-228-3131 or by emailing questions@vsp.virginia.gov.
