DUBLIN, Va. (WFXR) — Volvo Trucks North America announced Thursday that the company and the United Auto Workers (UAW) have reached a tentative labor agreement involving a Pulaski County plant.
According to a statement shared by Volvo on Thursday, May 20, the company and union agreed on the terms of a new six-year contract that would cover approximately 2,900 employees at the New River Valley (NRV) truck assembly operations in Dublin.
This news comes after more than 2,000 Volvo employees with the union walked off the job on April 17, a tentative agreement was reached on April 30, and then employees represented by UAW rejected the five-year labor agreement on May 16.
Volvo Trucks North America will is holding back additional comments about the proposed agreement pending ratification by members of UAW Local #2069.
