RADFORD, Va. (WFXR) – Government officials within the City of Radford say they have contracted with a new professional call center to take any after-hours calls regarding non-emergency information regarding utility service in the city.

The old number, 540-731-3624, will still be used but only during normal business hours for non-emergency information.

The new number, 540-434-3945, will be able to be used outside of normal business hours for non-emergency information to report a power outage, water line break, downed tree, or an issue with water being discolored.

Officials say that when using this new after-hours number, the call center will answer the phone, “City of Radford…” to begin to work with the customer so their request may be forwarded to the appropriate department.
