UPDATE: Tractor-trailer crash cleared on I-77 north in Bland County

UPDATE 8:00 p.m.: The tractor-trailer crash on I-77 north at mile marker 66.2 has been cleared.

UPDATE 6:50 p.m.: Traffic backups are slowly reducing behind a tractor-trailer crash on I-77 north in Bland County.

VDOT says backups are down to six miles at mile marker 66.2.

Drivers can still expect delays when traveling in this area as cleanup efforts continue.


UPDATE 5:35 p.m.: The northbound right shoulder is still closed from an earlier tractor-trailer crash along I-77 in Bland County.

VDOT says backups are approximately eight miles behind the crash.

Significant delays can be expected as crash cleanup continues.


UPDATE 4:55 p.m.: Backups continue to pile up behind a tractor-trailer crash on I-77 north in Bland County.

VDOT says backups are now approximately seven miles behind the crash; however, one lane has reopened.

Currently, the northbound right shoulder is closed but all other lanes are shown as being open.

BLAND COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – A tractor-trailer crash on I-77 north is creating a mess for commuters.

According to VDOT, the crash is at mile marker 66.2 at North Gap where the northbound right lane and right shoulder are closed.

VDOT says backups are approximately 6.5 miles behind the crash.

Drivers in this area can expect significant delays.
