GALAX, Va. (WFXR) — First responders from Galax had a very busy Monday, with four different crashes that sent three people to the hospital.
According to the Galax Fire Department, the first crash — a rollover on Route 58 East at 8111 Grayson Parkway — was reported at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Monday, June 28, but there were no reports of injuries.
Later in the day, first responders discovered an SUV that was “completely upside down in a deep ditch” across from Forest Avenue in Fairview, the department says. Both of the vehicle’s occupants pulled themselves out of the vehicle, but Galax-Grayson EMS brought one of them to Twin County Regional Healthcare with non-life-threatening injuries.
“One of our biggest fans was spotted watching Rescue 4 rumble by!” the Galax Fire Department wrote on Facebook Monday.
Shortly after clearing the second call, the department says another vehicle crash was reported at Grayson Parkway and Old Ferry Road. When crews arrived at the scene, they found a vehicle had crashed into the guardrail and left the occupant — who was “packaged and transported” by Baywood Search and Rescue Squad — with non-life-threatening injuries, according to Monday’s Facebook post.
About an hour later, fire officials say one last vehicle crash was reported off Kemps River Road involving vehicle that went into a bank. Baywood Search and Rescue Squad got the call to bring the occupant to the hospital after the crash, which is under investigation by Virginia State Police and the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office.
